We support and promote access to safe water and sanitation all persons in Schools and communities. ICD in 2012 received a grant from the Belgian Technical Cooperation to implement a water project at St Ann Busowa Primary school and the vocational training Institute and, the neighboring communities. ICD continues to respond to the ever-increasing WASH needs during the COVID-19 lock down. We believe that addressing such WASH needs will abate the second wave of COVID-19.
ICD has equally partnered with Water for People to provide handwashing jerrycans and Sato Toilet pans for vulnerable households in Bugiri, Bugweri and Luwero Districts. We reached 600 households with these items in 2021 and 2022.
ICD is currently working with the National Council for Older Persons to design eco and age friendly toilet facilities and associated guides for older persons.
